(a poem about lessons learned in younger days)
I’m learning to be patient
And I’m learning to worry less
And I’m learning to live with compassion
Not freak out, when I feel a mess
And I’m learning not to fix things
And I’m learning not to flail
And I’m learning (though it sometimes really hurts me)
Not to pay the bail
And I’m learning to stay still
When I have the urge to run
And I’m learning that it’s much
Much easier to be a peace-filled one
(a nod and gratitude to Judith Viorst)
