As previously mentioned, this year we set up an assembly line and created a specialized, customized holiday greeting card factory. Using stamps and ink and scissors and sparkles these cards pretty much display the craftsmanship of a kindergarten class, but without the charm of young hands still mastering manual dexterity.
Now that the factory has closed for the season, I can clearly that these aren’t the prettiest cards, but they are heart felt, individual and smudgy.
In my never ending quest to go creative every day, it’s good to accept the “beginners mind” quality of accepting what is…or trying to accept what is. But it’s hard to stay “present” in the season of presence…advent has me waiting for next year – to try try again, and improve to first grade level artistry.
