Day 10

On Monday, I begin my annual trip down the California Coast. It’s all business and busyness – but every year I have a fantasy that I’ll have the time and money and inclination to have a real retreat in this amazing region.  A retreat that is restful and creative and inspiring and soul satisfying.  I’d love to have the chance to paint and color and cut and paste and play with beautiful sparkly things and make art and a mess.  And to do so in a space of beauty where I don’t have to make my own bed, or cook, or think about “getting” somewhere or “accomplishing” anything.  I try to set aside time for creativity every day – but there’s something so luxurious and luscious about setting aside a bigger amount of time to sink into the process of wild imaginings and exploration.  Maybe I’ll at least pack some watercolors this year…
